Justice Philanthropy

Social Justice Philanthropy is the practice of making contributions to non-profit organizations that work for structural change and increase the opportunities and well being of those who are less well off politically, economically and socially.

HER Fund believes that the participation of women is crucial in the effort to achieve successful changes in the society which will benefit all groups.

Our donors are a key part of a right-based philanthropic movement to invest financial resources in programmes for women's rights and social justice.

HER Fund makes conscious efforts to keep our donors informed of our developments, among others, through our regular newsletters "HER News".

HER Fund reaches out to schools and communities in Hong Kong to help nurture a better environment for the development of girls and women in Hong Kong. Since our establishment, HER Fund has shared with students and people in the community through talks on the current women's situation and the meaning of International Women's Day.

HER Fund regularly writes articles to newspapers and magazines to raise the public's awareness on issues related to women's situations and rights in Hong Kong.

We also organize forums and discussions on right-based philanthropy, where representatives from both local and international foundations will be invited to share their experience in promoting a culture of giving for women's rights work.

The educational elements and informative nature of our fund-raising events have yielded positive feedback, encouraging us to continue to work via such an approach in the coming years.
