INSPIRE TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS 2020

HER Fund co-hosted workshops and sharing sessions in collaboration with Hong Kong Women’s Coalition on Equal Opportunities on The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).  The workshops aimed to provide organizations the opportunity to reflect on ways to improve and enhance development of their organizations, and to increase gender perspective in organizing campaigns. The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women is an international treaty adopted in 1979 by the United Nations General Assembly. 

Impacts

• 14 participants from 11 organizations/groups were able to understand CEDAW, the reporting mechanism of the United Nations, and how the convention relates to the participants’ own work. Trainers shared how they turned their theory into practice to those participants who will plan to submit a shadow report.
